Description

Colour-coated steel sheets utilise substrates such as hot-dip galvanised or aluminium-zinc coated steel. Following surface pre-treatment, liquid coating is applied via roller coating onto the prepared steel surface, then cured through baking and cooling. These sheets exhibit robust durability, corrosion resistance, decorative appeal and formability, finding extensive application across construction, home appliances, solar energy and transportation sectors.

Variations in the chemical composition of organic coatings result in significant differences in the quality and service life of colour-coated steel sheets. Based on the topcoat used, these sheets can be categorised as: standard polyester (PE) colour-coated steel sheets, high-weathering polyester (HDP) colour-coated steel sheets, silicone-modified polyester (SMP) colour-coated steel sheets, and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) colour-coated steel sheets.

The substrate for colour-coated sheets includes cold-rolled steel, hot-dip galvanised steel, electro-galvanised steel, aluminium-zinc coated steel, and other alloy-coated substrates. Aluminium sheets coated with organic paint, known as colour-coated aluminium sheets, are also widely utilised. The type and quality of the substrate directly determine the overall quality of the colour-coated sheet.

Future developments in colour-coated steel sheets will focus on continuous improvements in the mechanical properties of steel substrates, metal coatings, novel coatings, and innovative processes. This will enable the achievement of superior performance characteristics or the fulfilment of more personalised requirements.
